The King purchased Highgrove in 1980 and is very fond of the gardens which he has helped cultivate over the last four decades, so is unlikely to want to give it up.

Llwynywermod, a residence in Wales owned by Charles and Camilla, could stay in their possession too, but the King may choose to gift it to Prince William, now that he is the Prince of Wales.

Other royal residences, such as St James’ Palace, Gatcombe Park, Ivy Cottage, The Royal Lodge, Barnwell Manor, and Wren House are occupied by other members of the Royal Family.

The Duke of York currently lives at The Royal Lodge with Sarah Ferguson, and this is unlikely to change now Charles has ascended the throne.
