But multimillionaire bosses Ben van Beurden and Chris O’Shea only want to talk about money they are giving to hardship funds or call centre staff who can affirm to customers just how skint they will be.
Both firms argue they need to be financially strong to provide energy security, but outrageous profits clearly show they are that already.
It’s quite something for van Beurden to say fixing the problem requires a “miracle” when his own role will tip many businesses and households into destitution.
