A flying start at last for Suella?
THERE’S no doubting Suella Braverman’s resolve to deport migrants to Rwanda by the summer.
The Home Secretary’s tough words yesterday show she means business.

She says she has closed loopholes and “nothing is off the table” to get the planes flying.
That is a shot across the bows of the leftie lawyers who have repeatedly thwarted her scheme.
It is also a warning that the Government is not afraid to take on the European Court of Human Rights.
There has been a significant change since the last attempt failed.
In December the High Court ruled that the plan was lawful and did not breach the UN’s Refugee Convention or human rights laws
Encouragingly, Rwanda also says it is “ready to go”.
The African nation proudly says that living there will be a privilege, not a punishment.
If this scheme works, two things will happen.
Firstly it will smash the profoundly evil people-smuggling industry.
Secondly it will lead other countries such as Denmark and Germany, which are already investigating similar schemes, to follow suit.
Of course there will be howls of moral outrage.
But Rishi Sunak knows the outcome could make or break his premiership.
And is there anything more moral than stopping the people-traffickers?

THERE are few more infuriating sights than streets disfigured with mindless graffiti.
The shameless spray-can vandals cause millions of pounds’ worth of damage.

They blight whole areas, transforming them into rundown crime hotspots.
Tough new rules forcing yobs to clean up their artless scrawls within 48 hours of being caught might make a difference.
Ordering these anti-social thugs to speedily delete their daubings could be a first step in fighting street crime more generally.
Rail bunglers go loco
YOU would think rail bosses might be busy improving their dire train services.
But ludicrously they have found time to jump on the woke bandwagon, ordering staff to use gender-neutral terms such as “traffic marshal” instead of banksman.

How will that help commuters battling fare rises, cancellations and strikes?
We wonder what happens to staff who fail to fall in line with this diktat.
Will they be no-platformed?
